Kaitlin Langer

-FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst-

provides community members, law enforcement, and private sector partners with an hour-long Bystander Awareness Training (BAT).

Bystander Awareness Training was created after multiple studies identified that in more than 80 percent of violent extremist planned or executed attacks, Community Members or Bystanders observed indicators the violent extremist was radicalizing to violence; however, many of these warning signs were ignored because those who observed them was either afraid to report their concerns, or unable to recognize and articulate the concerning behavior as indicators of radicalization.

This presentation will cover what violent extremism is, the profile of a violent extremist, radicalization, drivers of radicalization, mobilization, extremist recruitment narratives, and will teach attendees how to identify potential behaviors that may pose a threat to our communities.
